Completing the full three-course series:
Gives you a Certificate in Foundations of Interprofessional Collaborative Practice to include on your resume or CV.
Helps you connect your university IPE curriculum with learning beyond it, preparing you for more in-depth conversations during interviews for jobs, residencies, and fellowships.
Bring your learning together in a free monthly session. After completing the bundle, join a free session hosted each month by Dr. Gunaldo to connect what you learned in your university IPE curriculum and these three courses with your clinical or community-based experiences. Use those connections to prepare for intentional, in-depth conversations during interviews for jobs, residencies, and fellowships.
After you complete the two quizzes and submit the Course 3 reflection, Dr. Gunaldo will email your certificate and the available monthly-session dates, along with a link to join.
Participating in AHEC Scholars, an interprofessional scholars program, or another college or university distinction program? Your program may allow outside learning activities to count toward its requirements. Ask your program coordinator whether these courses can be applied toward your required learning hours or activities.
Most health professionals use the terms multidisciplinary, interdisciplinary, and interprofessional interchangeably, but these team types are not the same. Each describes a different level of integration, shared decision-making, and patient engagement. This course gives you the language and conceptual framework to recognize the type of team you are observing or joining and explain the distinction.
Interprofessional collaborative practice is often thought of as something that happens in a room, during a huddle, a handoff, or a team meeting. This course challenges that assumption. Learn to recognize interprofessional collaboration in everyday practice, including how professionals can intentionally collaborate when they are not working together at the same time and place.
The first two courses in this series focus on recognizing interprofessional collaborative practice. This course moves from recognition to design. It begins with developing your interprofessional competence and interprofessional identity, then introduces an evidence-based framework that defines characteristics of a high-performing interprofessional team.
Complete all three courses to earn the Certificate in Foundations of Interprofessional Collaborative Practice. Courses 2 and 3 are $20 each, or complete both for $30 with the course bundle.
